-A demon or spirit.

-A returning or haunting memory or image.

What does the Word of God Say about ghosts?

Ecclesiastes 9: 5-6 (AMP)

5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; and they have no more reward [here], for the memory of them is forgotten.

6 Their love and their hatred and their envy have already perished; neither have they any more a share in anything that is done under the sun.

2 Corinthians 5: 1 - 10 (NKJV)

Assurance of the Resurrection

1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

The Judgment Seat of Christ

9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Romans 14:10 (NKJV)

10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ

John 6:51-54 (NKJV)

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is clear from this scripture that once a person dies they no longer have a share in anything in this world. There are No human spirits roaming around the earth after they die; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We will stand before the judgement seat of Christ. Christians bought by the blood of Jesus will have everlasting life.

Counterfeit human spirits, demons (evil spirits), take on the bodily likeness of people they have inhabited so as to lure unsuspecting people to their influence. Their intent is to gain entry into the life of people to ultimately destroy what God Loves and has created - man. We have encountered spirits that take on the likeness of the living and the dead to decieve people. These counterfeit human spirits are All demon spirits. We have Not encountered a human spirit on any blessing calls so far.

Below is some scripture from the Bible related to the use of Mediums.

Leviticus 20:6 (NKJV)

6 And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. 7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:26 - 27 (NKJV)

26 And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.
27 ‘A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.'"

Familiar Spirit
(Also known as a Personal Spirit Guide)

"Necromancer: One who inquires of the dead. Ability to contact spirits passing them from generation to the next within receptive families.

The effects are seen in mediums, yoga, drugs, clairvoyance, false prophecy, and superstitions."

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (NKJV)

9 “When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you.
